Career snapshot/ specialty areas: Shane has spent almost three decades serving as a CPA, during which time he gained experience while assisting high net worth individuals and closely held businesses. Through the years he developed an expertise in assisting clients as they navigate through various tax compliance and planning matters. He adds a depth of value to the firm’s clients, especially when tapping into his specialty of representing clients during tax audits before numerous federal, state and local taxing authorities. His knowledge of the substantive and procedural tax law combined with his far-reaching practical experience provides clients with a level of comfort and confidence during what is otherwise a disturbing experience.

Leadership role at MTL: Shane contributes knowledge and fresh ideas to his colleagues, nurturing and mentoring the staff in areas where he has developed strong expertise. In addition, he frequently contributed articles to the firm’s quarterly newsletter, Our Perspectives and continues to share new concepts through other media platforms.

Education: Shane obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The College of New Jersey, followed by his Masters of Science degree in Taxation from Seton Hall University.

Professional associations/certifications: Shane is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in New Jersey.

Professional affiliations: Shane is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA), and the NJCPA’s State Taxation Resource Group.

Community involvement: A lifetime learner, and someone who truly enjoys sharing knowledge, over the years, Shane has lectured before professional organizations and business groups on various topics across the state on multiple occasions.

Personal interests: When not spending time at his North Caldwell home with his family, Shane enjoys the antics of their Labrador retriever as well as sneaking in the occasional round of golf.
